God Reveals the Future No.1

  1. Who does God reveal his secrets to?

Amos 3:7   Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless he reveals his secrets to his servants the prophets.

  1. Who did God reveal this dream of a statue to?

Daniel 2:1.28.   Now in the second year of Nebuchadnezzar´s reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his spirit was so troubled that his sleep left him. But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. (Nebuchadnezzar II was the king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire from 605 B.C. to 562 B.C.)

  1. The king forgot what was in the dream. Who revealed the dream to Daniel?

Daniel 2:28   A God in heaven.

  1. What did King Nebuchadnezzar see in his dream from God that troubled him?

Daniel 2:31-35   You, O King, were watching; and behold, a great image! This great image, whose splendor was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome. This image´s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found, and the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

Daniel 2:37.38.  (King Nebuchadnezzar).  You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory; and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, he has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all – you are this head of gold.

  1. When did king Nebuchadnezzar´s kingdom of Babylon reign?

From 650 to 539 years B.C.

  1. Which kingdom represented the arms and chest of silver?

Daniel 2:39   But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours.

The kingdom which came after the Babylonian Empire from 650 to 539 years B.C., was the Medo-Persian Empire.

  1. When did the Medo-Persian Empire reign?

From 539 to 331 years B.C.

  1. Which kingdom represented the belly and thighs of bronze?

Daniel 2:39.   Then another kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth.

The kingdom which came after the Medo-Persian Empire was the Grecian Empire.

  1. When did the Grecian Empire reign?

From 331 to 168 years B.C.

  1. Which kingdom represented the legs of iron?

Daniel 2:40   And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron, inasmuch as iron breaks in pieces and shatters everything; and like iron that crushes, that kingdom will break in pieces and crush all others.

The kingdom which came after the Grecian Empire was the Roman Empire.

  1. When did the Roman Empire reign?

From 168 years B.C. to 476 years A.D.

  1. Which kingdom represents the feet partly of iron and partly of clay?

Daniel 2:41.42.   Where as you saw the feet and toes partly of potter´s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile.

The divided kingdom which came after the fall of the Roman Empire, are the divided nations of Europe and of the world.

  1. When did the divided nations of Europe reign?

From 476 years A.D. to the Second Coming of Christ.

  1. How do these nations of Europe and of the world mingle with one another?

Daniel 2:43   As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another; just as iron does not mix with clay.

Napoleon tried to conquer and unify Europe but did not succeed. Hitler tried to conquer and unify Europe but did not succeed. Royal alliances between royal families have tried to unify Europe by intermarrying with one another; but they have not succeeded. Lastly, the countries of Europe have tried to unify with the European Economic Community, but Brexit has shown us it is crumbling away.

  1. Who does the stone represent?

Daniel 2:44.45.   And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever. Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold – the great God has made known to the king what will come to pass after this.

God´s kingdom was set up by Jesus Christ, during the time when the Roman Empire ruled Palestine. It will consummate at Christ´s Second coming.

  1. Where is God´s kingdom?

Luke 17:20.21.   Now when he was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, he answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ´See here! or ´See there!´ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

  1. How can we enter the kingdom of God?

John 3:5   Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

  1. Can we be sure that the last part of the prophecy of Daniel 2 will be fulfilled?

Daniel 2:45   The dream is certain, and its interpretation in sure.
